Rolling out your new trade ordering platform 🚀

Sellar is the fastest and easiest way for customers to order your product. So the more traffic you drive to your trade platform, the more order volume you will generate. Below are 6 of the most effective methods you can implement in minutes to generate traffic to your trade platform.

1. Add a link to your trade platform on your website

Your trade platform is your digital product list. Customers can see your availability and place an order request in minutes not days. Help customers find your Sellar trade platform by having a direct link on your website.

Linking your trade platform to your website vs sending customers to an email form or phone number leads to at least 20% more orders.

Here’s how Marble Brewing and Sureshot Brewing have linked their Sellar platform from their website homepage:

The link to your platform can be found by going to Storefront -> Preview -> Click ‘Copy link to store’. This will copy the URL to your trade platform to your clipboard.

2. Linking your trade platform to Instagram

77.9% of the population of the UK is on social media, as of January 2021, so a great way to reach as many trade venues as possible with your platform is with a link in your social media bio. There are loads of ways to do this, one way we use is Linktree, a free and convenient way to have multiple links such as to your consumer webshop, trade platform and a link to your website.

3. Share your trade platform with your followers

After following some of these steps, you should be well on your way to getting the most out of Sellar, something to shout about on Social Media perhaps?

A way in which you can raise awareness of your new trading platform is to post about it on social media. Perhaps you could post a story on Instagram or make a post, like this one here from Mondo Brewing!

4. Link in your trade mailer/ newsletter

A great way to get customers to sign up to your trade platform is to include a link to sign up in your regular newsletter if you have one, or include a link in your email footer to your trade platform. Here’s an example from Farm Yard Ales.

5. Drive traffic from your email signature

Think how many emails you and your team send to customers every day. Adding a link to your email signature is fast and free to do. If you already have an email signature, all you need to do is copy the link to your trade platform (Settings > Configure Store > Copy Link) and then link this into your signature.

If you want recommendations for where you can create a new email signature, we recommend the free Hubspot email signature tool!

Here’s an example from our friends at Love Lane Brewing on how they’ve used their email signature to drive traffic to their trade platform.
